Weight loss Courses
Do you and a group of friends want to lose weight together? Support from friends is an important part in losing weight successfully. If you have a group of friends that wish to club together, I can run a weight loss course for you. Courses can be run in your own home (in the Southampton/Winchester/Hampshire area). Sessions can be run during evenings or weekends to work around your other commitments. The courses are usually run as 6 sessions on consecutive weeks, each session typically being around 90 minutes long (shorter or longer courses can be run too). Topics frequently covered include healthy eating, portion sizes, label reading, fats, sugars, alcohol and physical activity. Topics can be tailored to your needs and other topics can be covered as needed. Weight, BMI, waist circumference and blood pressure measurements are included at the start and finish of the course. Each individual is encouraged to make personalised goals at the end of each session to work on during the week. A maximum of 8 people can get together to form a group. From experience however, it works best with a smaller group of around 4-6 people. I would love to chat with you about your requirements, so please feel free to contact me to discuss this.
Healthy eating groups
Similar to the weight loss groups, if you have a group of friends that wish to club together, I can run a healthy eating course for you in a location of your choice. Again, these groups can be tailored to the needs of the group, and can cover specific conditions in more depth as required, e.g. diabetes or heart disease. You also have the option of including computerised dietary analysis for all members at the start and finish of the course to assess how everyone’s diets have improved as a result of the course. As with the weight loss groups, I recommend 4-8 people per group.

Workshops, Training and Lecturing
I have a wealth of experience in providing training courses and workshops to a variety of groups and settings. I am a confident and experienced public speaker, and can gain rapport from any group. My aim is to encourage group participation and interaction wherever possible, and to make the workshops as practical as possible. I obtained a teaching qualification in 2009 (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector). I also have experience of teaching Health & Social Care to 16-19 year olds in further education. I am available to provide training to groups or organisations, including schools, catering companies, and the workplace. Previous training sessions have ranged from diabetes training for GP practice staff, to wound healing nutrition for community nursing staff, to healthy packed lunches for the workplace.
